JULY - SUMMER DANCE WORKSHOP
As stated in your February newsletter, our summer workshop will be held in the air-conditioned studio in Wanaque on Monday, July 28, Tuesday, July 29, Wednesday, July 30, and Thursday, July 31st. Times will be 10am-2:30pm and information on the workshop has been emailed to everyone. These dates were given in our February newsletter so we need to know this week (if you have not already done so) whether or not you are planning to attend, so that times can be rearranged, if necessary. All deposits are due immediately.
ADDITIONAL JUNE CLASSES – Don’t Forget
We will have the following extra dance classes for Nationals and Feis practice at All-Saints Church in Bergenfield: Friday, June 20, Tuesday, June 24, Thursday, June 26. Class times will be from 5pm to 7pm. Fees are payable each night at class. The Monday Bergenfield class is cancelled as the Wanaque location has a class that night that anyone may attend.
RE-REGISTRATION for 2008-2009
Registration letters will be emailed shortly to everyone. Please let us know if you do not receive yours or if you are unable to print out a copy. Please return your registrations ASAP. This assists us in planning for September classes and guarantees your place in fall classes. Thank you for your cooperation. ** Please let us now if you’d like additional registrations for any other children you know that might be interested in Irish Dance lessons.**
SUMMER CLASS SCHEDULE
Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings in Bergenfield for Pre-Beginners through Championship level between 5pm-7:30pm, starting Tuesday, July 8th and continuing through Tuesday, August 12. You only pay for each class you attend. Fees are payable at each class
• 1st group: Pre-beginners & this year’s beginners: 5:00 – 5:45pm
• 2nd group: Advanced beginners, novice & prizewinner: 5:15 – 6:30pm
• 3rd group: Preliminary & Open Championship: 6:00-7:30pm
** the class on July 29th will only consist of 1st and 2nd group as the workshop will be taking place and we assume all championship level dancers will be involved in that.
These classes are great to help keep the dancer practicing their material and also so as to not forget their steps. They can help a child to advance a little in material they might not yet have mastered. They are very useful if your child plans on competing in competitions during the summer months. Also, if you know of someone who has a child thinking about starting lessons, these classes help them and we, as teachers, ascertain their readiness and it gives them a head start on September. Lastly, anyone competing at Championship level or is planning on competing in the Regional Oireachtas should be attending these classes. At this level of competition, one cannot afford to take the summer off.
SCHOOL FEIS – October 5th – Rockland Community College
We are working on our Feis now. The syllabus is available at class and online. Class entries are due August 15th, along with volunteer info. Other info on award donations, journal ads, etc. is also available at class and on our feis page on this website.
NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS –
Best of luck to all our dancers that will be competing in the Nationals in July in Nashville.
HAVE A HAPPY AND HEALTHY SUMMER TO ALL OUR DANCERS AND THEIR FAMILIES!!!
