 About the McLoughlin School

Patsy Early-McLoughlin, TCRG & ADCRG in New York started the Early-McLoughlin School of Irish Dancing over 30 years ago.  Her brother James Early TCRG & ADCRG soon joined her and the school expanded to three locations in Manhattan and the Bronx.  Patsy moved to New Jersey in 1973 and opened classes in Ridgefield Park and other Bergen County locations.

Another Early sibling, Karen Early-Conway, TCRG, joined the school’s teaching team, along with Elaine Greenan, TCRG.

The recent additions to the faculty are teachers Terry Gillan TCRG & ADCRG and Philip Owens TCRG & ADCRG both from Dublin, who until recently ran and taught the world famous Rinceori Naomh Padraig in Dublin Ireland.

The most recent news for our school is the almagamation of the Kilkenny School of Dancing with us. We welcome the students  to our family and Maura Kilkenny Glynn TCRG to our faculty and of course Christine.

The school celebrated the honor of having the first American female World Champion in 1996 Theresa O’Sullivan. (Michael Flatley was the first American male.) and has produced many champions both nationally and internationally.

Our dancers have performed in various shows at the PAC-NJ, John Harms Theatre, Helen Hayes Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and at Gracie Mansion for Mayor Giuliani.   They appeared with Cousin Brucie on his Variety Children’s Charity Telethon on Sunday, March 21, 2004 and wil appear again this year in "rhythm on the River in NYC.

Students from the school have been successful in joining the cast of such Broadway dance shows as Michael Flatley’s Lord of The Dance .

Even more important than the training of students for solo and team dancing, is the philosophy embraced and taught at the various locations of the school.  All of the teachers temper their efforts with strong feelings of heritage and tradition, cooperation, friendship and love, traits that Patsylearned from her parents.

The school presently holds classes throughout New York and New Jersey and caters for all levels from beginner to championship.
