Maura Kilkenny Glynn began Irish dancing at the age of 5 under the direction of the late Kenny Verlin. Two years later, Maura became a member of the Early-McLoughlin School of Irish Dancing where she continued dancing competitively under the direction of Patsy McLoughlin, TCRG/ADCRG, and Jimmy Early, TCRG/ADCRG, until 1996. Maura competed regularly in local, regional and national championships and qualified regularly for the world championships in both solo dancing as well as team dancing. In 1996, Maura was certified to teach Irish dancing by An Coimisiun. Prior to joining the McLoughlin School teaching staff, Maura ran the successful Kilkenny Academy of Irish Dance in Wanaque, NJ. |
